Bringing Fish Ashore.

Question of Duty on Them Submitted to Washington.

The question of the right of persons not citizens of the United States to fish outside the three-mile limit here and bring the fish in without paying duty thereon, has been submitted to the Treasury department. United States Attorney Breckons, of whom H. J. Bray made an inquiry, replied to the effect that it was not his duty to furnish opinions except to federal officers who consulted him. He had discussed the matter with Collector Stackable, however, the attorney stated, and the latter would ask for instructions from Washington.
