Full Text

This extraordinary translation may seem strange to many but it is true.

North America is unquestionably in a very singular situation at present. The trade to that quarter is precarious. Much credit has been given, and the remittances are not only uncertain but doubtful. The French can give the Americans little or no credit; and the English and Dutch, who have done it, have suffered by it. Every day fresh failures happen in this line. The last mail from the Continent brought an account of an eminent house in Holland having stopped, which was an American trader. We know of the houses in London.
