MUNICIPAL ELECTION.

The city election held here last Tuesday was the most quiet in the history of Camden. In fact, less than a score of votes were cast in the forenoon. A very small vote was polled, which clearly indicates that the citizens and the taxpayers, with a few exceptions, are content and satisfied to allow the existing condition of public affairs to remain undisturbed.

Our school the past year has been a record breaker, the enrollment being 271, including about 75 boarding students, and the financial showing will compare favorably with the management of other progressive towns in this section of the country.

Camden, like all other towns has a few knockers, who are never satisfied unless they are permitted to "run things," but much credit is due to the selection of business men of sound judgment.

The ticket selected at the recent mass meeting of citizens, when the present board of mayor and aldermen was strongly endorsed and unanimously nominated, is elected as follows: Mayor, S. L. Peeler; aldermen, T. J. Lowry, Henry F. Stigall, F. E. McElyea, James C. Durdin and L. R. Watson.
