Full Text
The ground cannot be put to but one possible use that would be as good and that would have been to erect a building by the town suitable for rooms for trucks and ladders for its fire company, with space for a fire engine, hose-cart, buckets and paraphernalia of an efficient fire brigade; council rooms suitable for its town trustees and for its mayor's court and for holding town elections. But the open space south of McHugh & Lyons' office is ample for this purpose and in the near future ought to be made available.

Event Details
Mr. A. Brooks has leased from the town council ground south of McHugh's bank on which to put a good substantial pump and windmill store and shop. The location is well adapted to the business and will make what is now an idle and comparatively worthless bit of land a source of revenue to the corporation beside adding really a new industry to our village. As a means of advertising his wares to the public it is in contemplation by Mr. Brooks to erect at his own cost a wind mill over the town well, put in a good tank and give the public a generous supply of water drawn ready for use.
