Murder.- A most foul and deliberate murder was yesterday perpetrated in the village of Bellevue, in Sandusky county. From the statements of passengers by the railroad cars, we gather the following particulars:

George Thomas, the murderer, a native of Quebec, and Miss Katharine Humler, the victim of his fury, were both servants in the "Western Exchange," kept by Rt. O. Beer, at Bellevue; that Thomas had for some time been paying his addresses to Miss Humler, and had been rejected; and had since that been frequently heard to declare that no one but himself should ever possess her. Yesterday morning, about 10 o'clock, he loaded his rifle with a ball, with the intent of taking the life of Miss Humler, but although he had several opportunities of doing so - to use his own language- "he was too sober- he could not then do it." He plied himself with liquor- and about 10 o'clock, A. M., having goaded himself sufficiently to carry into effect his murderous purpose- he entered the kitchen where the unfortunate girl was employed, and found her alone; he levelled his rifle at her and drew the trigger, but for three times, was unsuccessful- the girl fell upon her knees and begged for mercy; but the heartless and infuriated wretch was deaf to her prayers -he drew again, but again without discharging the piece- the girl sprung to her feet, and attempted to escape up stairs, when he fired, and the contents of the rifle were lodged in her breast, killing her almost instantly.

The murderer was immediately arrested and placed in safe custody. We understand he made an attempt to take his own life in swallowing the contents of a vial which he carried with him, but he was soon relieved from its effects. He does not pretend to deny the crime, talks freely and fully about it, and seems perfectly easy and unconcerned about it, or its consequences to himself.
