BACK FROM CANADA.

Commissioner Skeen Favorably Impressed With Alberta.

Lyman Skeen, county commissioner, is back from a trip to Alberta, Canada, where he went with Dan Costley of Harrisville and two Cache valley associates to investigate the conditions for stock raising. Mr. Skeen was very favorably impressed with the country and, with his associates, will probably go into the stock raising business there in the near future. At Lethbridge Mr. Skeen's party were met by Charley McCarty, formerly of American Fork, who showed them about the country. The government allows settlers to homestead 160 acres and buy 160 acres more, and there is lots of good land left. Mr. Skeen says Alberta people are driving as good beef right now in from their ranges as Utah is producing by feeding.

Although contemplating the launching and operation of an extensive stock raising business, Mr. Skeen will continue a citizen of Weber county.
