Vincent C. Holochwost, local recreation director, leaves Greenbelt Monday for the Naval Academy at Annapolis for a month of basic officer's training. In Commander Tom Hamilton's Department of Aeronautics physical fitness program "Holly" will fit nicely with his brand new lieutenant (J. G.) rating.
Mr. Holochwost came to Greenbelt in September, 1938, well equipped to set up recreational activities here. He graduated from the Savage School of Physical Education, obtained his B. S. Degree in education at Columbia, and his Master of Arts in education at George Washington University.
The big fellow played one year of Rep softball, three years of Rep basketball, and three seasons on the Shamrock nine.
To quote Vince, "I want my last official act to be playing baseball with my Shamrocks." So, this Sunday at Magruder Park, Hyattsville, Holly will toe the slab against the Police Boys' Club in an effort to bring home the Shamrocks' fifth straight league victory.
