Looks a trifle rustic to see a newspaper that honestly believes that it is an exponent of the cause of silver to be giving editorial indorsement to an editorial from the hidebound republican Reno Gazette in which what has been known for fifty years, namely that the Montagus of London control the market price of silver for the world is denied and ridiculed. That happens to be just what the goldbugs of '96 denied, but their denying it did not keep it from being the truth, especially when the Montagus themselves and all leading monetary authorities long have admitted it, defending it on the ground of the silver market being in honest hands and better for all parties concerned.
