Columbia, July 16.—Three Corbin brothers, Henry, Fred and George, yesterday were brought to the penitentiary to begin serving 12 1-2 year sentences each for the Enterprise bank robbery at Walhalla March 24 last. The three brothers, in company with five other men given prison sentences at the July session of circuit court in Oconee county, were brought to the penitentiary by Guard C. A. Sullivan.

No unusual incidents occurred while the eight white men were in transit were reported by Mr. Sullivan, B. E. Evans, captain of the guards, said. The men will be given physical examinations today and then will be assigned their duties, Captain Evans added.

The names of the other white men brought from Oconee, the crime for which they were tried and the length of sentence for each follows: Chester White, housebreaking and larceny, nine months; W. J. Nix, housebreaking and larceny, 12 months; T. W. Boyd, larceny and receiving stolen goods, four years; O. Brown, disposal of property under lien, one year; D. N. Clark, violation of the prohibition law, three months.

The Enterprise bank was entered and robbed of $776, largely in small change, at midnight March 25 last. The bandits tied and gagged Policeman Guy Tarrant and made their way into the bank vault with a torch. They then drove out of Walhalla on the Seneca road.

The three Corbin brothers were later captured and charged with the robbery. They were convicted last Tuesday and sentenced by Judge M. L. Bonham, who refused the plea for a new trial. In his argument for a new trial one of the attorneys referred to the death of W. B. F. Corbin, the father of the three boys, in the discharge of his duty.

Both Henry and George Corbin are married. Fred Corbin is only 19 years of age.
