Hauled Trailers on Flatcars 20 Years

ELMHURST, Ill.—The Chicago Great Western Railway instituted the handling of truck trailers on flatcars some 20 years ago, and is still doing it.

That's the word from R. C. Wirth, BRT general chairman on the property, who points out that each night flat cars carrying two trailers are incorporated in freight trains running out of the Twin Cities and Chicago.

The service, he adds, prevails all over the railroad on major terminals.

They feel on the CGW that the road was the first to inaugurate such service.
