School Needs To Be Aired At Public Meeting

County School Supt. Wayne Hull announced today that the Survey Group which has been in Hernando county three days this week checking over the classroom and building needs of the local school system will make a public report of its findings and recommendations next Wednesday night, Oct. 23rd, at 8:30 o'clock in the court room of the court house. All interested citizens are invited to attend.

The School Board had requested that such a group visit the county and objectively study the local conditions and make recommendations for adequate construction to take care of expected expansion for the next five years.

At a recent public meeting called by the School Board, it was found that public sentiment was predominately against a bond issue but favored an increase in the district millage to the full 10 mills allowed under the law so as to put the construction program on a "pay as you go" basis.

Members of the survey group here this week included: Dr. B. R. Tilley, U. J. Bennett, Asst. in Surveys; Robt. G. Graf, Asst. School Architect, all three from the State Dept. of Education in Tallahassee; and Robt. N. Pettigrew, Architect, from the Hillsborough county staff.

It is expected that Dr. Tilley will make the public report of the group's finding next Wednesday.
