Event Details
The Fireworks which were lately exhibited at Paris, on account of the Dauphin's marriage, ended in a dismal catastrophe, by the crowd all pressing to get away at one and the same time. Several persons of the first condition who were endeavouring to get to their carriages, were bruised and trodden under foot; and so great was the confusion, that coaches were overturned, and horses smothered.
