HOLLYWOOD, April 13. (UP)—Jackie Coogan said today he may sell his life story for money to press a suit for accounting against his mother and stepfather for the $4,000,000 he claims to have earned as a child movie star.
"Two syndicates are after me to sell them the story of my life," said the youth who worked for the movies for $400 a week at the age when other boys were playing with blocks. "I think it might be interesting; there are many things about my life that have never been told. That's one way I could make some money now, when I need it."
Jackie, now 23 and married to Betty Grable, blonde starlet, claims he was held to $6.25 a week allowance from the fortune he built. Upon becoming 21, even this was stopped, he claims, and he was cut off with $1000.
He is suing his mother, Mrs. Lillian Coogan Bernstein, and Arthur L. Bernstein, the Coogans' business manager whom the mother married after Jackie's father died in an auto accident.
