IN OVERSEAS HOSPITAL—Pfc George W Jones, the husband of Mrs. Naomi Jones, 159 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, who is undergoing medical service in an overseas hospital somewhere in Sicily. Pfc Jones is the son of Mrs Aldora Jones of Roswell, Georgia. He has written and dedicated the following poem to a close friend, who was killed in the service.

We saw your grave today, old pal
The earth still fresh and cold
And at your head there stood a cross
As if we need to be told
We stood around like things to tell
We knew not what to say
If one broke the silence with
We'd better be on our way
We turned as one and walked away
Head bowed and hats in hand
I hated so to leave you there
I hope you will understand
We know we soon may meet again
And start our lives anew
We'll laugh about the Army then,
And things we used to do
We'll plan our plans and dream our dreams
Just as we used to do
So do the best you can, old pal,
I may be seeing you anon.
