Full Text
We are sorry to learn, by a letter received yesterday, from our Boston correspondents, that the Old Serpent is not secured, as we were led to hope was the case, from the account received the preceding day, as published yesterday. That account was agreeable to the current rumor in Boston, just as the mail was closing, but on investigation it appeared that "the monster tore himself from the harpoon, and escaped with a severe wound, but without any of those appendages which would probably have been the means of his subsequent capture."
