Cleared Toledo Wife Of Slaying Mate

TOLEDO, O. (ANP) -- A 22-year-old housewife from nearby Sylvania was cleared last week of the charge of slaying her husband with a pistol she purchased as a Fathers' Day gift.

Mrs. Delia Jackson was freed of the first degree murder accusation after she testified that her husband, Arthur, 29 locked the doors of their home and threatened to kill her.

The shooting occurred on June 18 -- the day before Fathers' Day, and Mrs. Jackson told sheriff deputies that the incident climaxed a day of drinking by her husband.

Mrs. Jackson is the mother of four children, ranging from 14 months to five years.
