TARRING AND FEATHERING.--We understand from one of the Committee of Vigilance for the Indian Land, that Jackson Avens who was ordered some weeks since by the citizens of Ebenezer to leave the State, for having made sundry Abolition declarations, returned to that neighborhood on Monday last. Avens was taken up, treated to a coat of tar and feathers, rode on a rail, and ordered once more to leave the State, with the injunction that if he was again caught within its borders, they would hang him.--South Carolina Miscellany.
