Charlestown, South-Carolina, July 30.

Wednesday last arrived off this bar for a pilot for St. Augustine, the transport Ship Benjamin's Conclusion, Capt. Ware from the Havannah, with part of the 9th regiment on board. -- Some days after our troops had left the Havanna, a packet arrived from England, with directions for the destination of the troops, &c. The Capt. of the packet finding the Havanna already delivered up, went in quest of the fleet, came up with them just as they had got thro' the gulph, and deliver'd his dispatches; on opening which, Gen. Keppel ordered the 9th regiment (in place of 4 companies of the 1st) to take possession of and garrison St. Augustine, &c. where Major ...
Col. Ogilvie is to command; the 35th (in place of the 2d battalion of Royal-Americans) to take possession of Mobile, &c. the garrison whereof is to be commanded by Major Forbes; and the 22d, under command of Major Loftus, to take possession of Pensacola; the 43d regiment to Jamaica: the 48th and 26th to England, and all the rest for New-York, to be under the orders of Sir Jeffery Amherst.

This day the above transport proceeded for her destination.
