THE M. E. CONFERENCE.

The Business Transacted Yesterday.

The fifteenth session of the Nevada Conference of the M. E. Church convened yesterday at the M. E. Church, Bishop Gilbert Haven, D. D., in the chair. After the devotional exercises, the roll was called and the following members answered to their names: Rev's J. D. Hammond, Charles McKelvey, W. C. Gray, G. B. Hinkle, Asa P. White, Lorr Ewing, N. G. Luke, T. S. Uren, Geo. Jennings, W. Carver, F. M. Willis and Warren Nims. Rev's C. W. Crall, R. A. Ricker and J. H. De LaMatyr were reported absent. On motion, Rev. W. Nims was re-elected Secretary, and Rev. L. Ewing and Rev. E. McKelvey were appointed Assistant Secretaries. Rev. J. L. Riley, of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and Rev. J. F. Ladd of Carson, were introduced. The Presiding Elders were made a Committee on Nominations of Standing Committees required by the Conference. On motion, Lay Delegates were invited to participate in the debates, except on passages of a ministerial character. The Committee on Nominations reported the following standing committees:

On Missions—Presiding Elders.
On Temperance—Messrs. Nims and Hinkle.
On Public Worship—P. E. of the district, and P. C. of Winnemucca.
On Sunday School and Tracts—Messrs. Uren and Willis.
On Church Extension—Messrs. Ewing and Nims.
Auditing Committee—Messrs. Luke and Uren.
Bible Cause—Messrs. Gray and Hinkle.
On Freedman's Aid—Messrs. Carver and Jennings.
On Educational Interests—Messrs. McKelvey, Gray and Hammond.

A paper on the expenses of the General Conference was read, and the sum of $50 asked of this Conference, to be collected in the several charges and paid to the Secretary of the Conference before the first of next March.
