Full Text

PUT IT MILDLY. - Lachlin Frazier, Esq., who, by the unpleasant stringency of our Territorial criminal law, and the seemingly vindictive and at most times irrepressible desire on the part of our District Courts to administer impartial justice to all citizens arraigned temporarily before them, had unhappily been compelled to forego for a time the inspiring pleasures of unrestricted outdoor exercise and to take up a limited residence in the U. S. Penitentiary at this place, says the Deer Lodge New North-West, under the polite guardianship of Warden English and his guards, was on Saturday of last week - after about ninety days incarceration - presented with a share of the bounteous clemency of the government and permission to again pursue unmolested happiness and the full bent of his hitherto somewhat wavward inclinations, whithersoever his lines may chance to be cast. Mr. Frazier has the reputation of being as mild a mannered man as ever plucked an eye or cut a throat, and I will no doubt add materially to the local status of any vicinity whose limits he may see fit to select as a base for future operations.
