Youngest V. F. W. Chief Is Claimed By Kansas Post

The title of youngest commander of a V.F.W. Post is claimed for Robert O. Compton, head of Post 5901, Ottawa, Kans., by members of his unit.

Compton was only 22 when he took office. He recently was re-elected as commander and was also named publicity officer for the Department of Kansas.

Previously the title of youngest commander had been claimed for 24 year old Robert G. Fuller of Post 1745, Newburyport, Mass. Fuller recently was succeeded by a new commander after serving out his term.
