SENATOR HUBBLE SHOT
AT IN STANFORD

The Danville Messenger had
the following dispatch from Stanford
which will be of interest
here as ex-Senator R. L. Hubble
is well known here:

Stanford, Ky., Nov. 12—Two
of Stanford's most prominent
citizens became involved in a difficulty
over the election today
about 12 o'clock, when former
county assessor Ed Kennedy, it
is said, attempted to shoot ex-
Senator R. L. Hubble. According
to eye witnesses of the trouble,
Mr. Kennedy drew a revolver and
aimed at Senator Hubble, who
blocked the gun in the air
but as it was fired. The bullet
missing its mark only a few
inches. At this juncture the two
men clinched and the gun was
knocked out of Mr. Kennedy's
hands. Bystanders separated the
men. It is said a negro picked
up the revolver and prevented its
use the second time.

Mr. Kennedy was placed under
arrest, but was released on
bond. Fortunately no one was
hurt in the fight.

Story Details
