MISSION FOR NON-CATHOLICS.

Father O'Neill Urges Everyone to Attend the Services Beginning on May 13th.

In presenting his compliments to his numerous non-Catholic friends in and around Milbank, Father O'Neill issues to them a most cordial invitation to attend the services at St. Lawrence's church every evening during the week beginning May 13, where Catholic doctrine from a Catholic point of view will be accurately and fully expounded in clear and concise language.

It is well to know both sides of a question before passing judgment upon it, hence it is right and only right, to understand catholicity as Catholics understand it. When a sensible man is deeply anxious to get at the truth on any point he simply discards reports and gossip and betakes himself to headquarters.

The live newspaper that wants a correct account of an affair does not pick up and dish out street rumors, but dispatches one of its best reporters to the scene of the event to interview the actors themselves or the immediate eyewitnesses. It is an axiom that everyone is to be trusted in his own art, otherwise expressed by "no one knows so well where the shoe pinches as the wearer." Frenchmen are the best masters of French; pilots the best steersmen on the river; and Catholics ought to know catholicism better than non-Catholics. To know Catholics then as they wish to be known is the reason of this invitation to Father O'Neill's warm-hearted non-Catholic friends:

The subject matters to be discussed during the week are as follows:

Monday, May 13--"Is One Religion as Good as Another."

Tuesday, May 14--"What Catholics Think of the Bible."

Wednesday, May 15--"Why do Catholics Believe in the Pope."

Thursday, May 16--"Confession of Sins to a Priest"

Friday, May 17--"Is Jesus Christ God."

Saturday, May 18--"Matrimony."

Sunday, May 19--"Why I am a Catholic."

A question box will be placed near the door and everybody is invited to use it freely. Write your question briefly, place it in the box, and it will be answered the same evening. The lectures will be carried on in a friendly spirit, no controversy, no abuse. Special music each evening. Lectures will begin promptly at 7:45 p. m.

Yours sincerely,

--Rev. J. J. O'Neill
