THIEVES ENTER 3 HOMES; TAKE ABOUT $359.50

Of Sheriff This Morning Take $357 From Home Of Frank Fernandez: Two Other Homes Reported Entered

Three house burglaries, which netted the thieves a total of $359.50, were reported to the sheriff's office this morning.

The biggest haul made by the thieves was for a total of $357 which they found in the pocket of the trousers worn by Frank Fernandez, 803 Virginia street.

Fernandez said today that he come home last night and immediately went to sleep. When he awakened this morning he said he found a screen on a side window of his home opened. Then he missed the money.

The thieves next went to the home of Berl Curry, 1219 Eliza street. They entered the house, during the absence of the family, through a screen on a window of the home. They found $1.75, but nothing else was taken, according to Curry.

The final stop of the thieves was at the home of Paul F. Roberta, 1227 Von Phister street. They ransacked the home and finally fled with a small strong box containing a number of U. S. Bonds and some valuable papers. The box with the bonds and the papers intact was later found abandoned at the High School Annex. The thieves found 75 cents in small change in a dresser drawer.

Two other householders reported to City Police last Friday that their houses had been entered by burglars, but in neither case did they get anything for their trouble.

The homes entered were those occupied by Willie McClintock, 1228 Eaton street and Mrs. Crosby, 1417 Ashby street. The burglars scattered matches throughout the two homes but apparently found nothing to steal.
