A Sick Man in a Chicago Hospital Says he is From Dallas.
DALLAS, Texas, Dec. 10—Special.—Nothing can be learned in Dallas of P. M. Scott, who is involved in financial troubles and in an elopement at Chicago. A week ago Chief of Police Arnold received a letter from the warden of the Cook county hospital, in Chicago, that a man claiming to be Phillip M. Scott was sick in that institution, had been robbed twice of large sums of money in disreputable resorts of Chicago, and that he claimed to be from Dallas, and that his mother, Mrs. A. Scott, owned 5,300 acres of land eight miles from the city. County and city officials can furnish no information of the existence of such a woman. The impression here is that the Chicago "Scott" is crazy or that he is a fraud using the name of the prominent Scott family of Dallas.
