On the 17th of this present instant, a certain gentleman of my neighbourhood was seized with a sudden spleen, or vertigo:--the symptoms strongly indicated a convulsion of the nervous System, something inclinable to an hydrophobia. Every exertion was used--the temples were bathed in cold water, in order to abate the symptoms and, allay the heat of the fever, but without success. The disorder instantly spread from the head to the extremities--the fingers were immoderately convulsed--a violent vomiting took place, and a black rancid matter, of a very offensive smell, was discharged. During the short intervals of the paroxysm (his eyes rolling wildly) among many other incoherent expressions, he frequently exclaimed, Gentlemen! am I a Jack-Ass!! Whether it will assume a periodical form, or not, God only knows. At present, Sir, your opinion, or that of the learned faculty, is humbly requested, by
