Irun, Sept 25.
By an extraordinary gazette of Badajos, which we have just received, we learn that the revolution in Portugal has been completed. On the 15th instant it was consummated at Lisbon, notwithstanding the opposition of the regency of the kingdom. The troops had been ordered to their barracks; but this measure of precaution tended only to exasperate the public mind, and to increase the public agitation. The soldiers proceeded from their quarters, and joined the people in one of the public squares of the city. Then the dismissal of the members of the regency was decided, and they were replaced by persons whose names follow:—Feyre, count of San Pavo, count Resendo, count of Pagnalia, lieut. general Mathias, Joseph Dios Acedo, Hermano, and Beauchamp. When the name of the latter was mentioned, it was asked whether it was the father or the son that was meant; and when the son was named, great satisfaction was expressed. Immediately afterwards, couriers were dispatched to different essential points; and among others, to the commanders of the towers of Belem and Berta, with orders not to allow any ship to sail without the permission of the regency.
