Edinburgh, Oct. 5.

On Monday the Act for bringing to Justice the Murderers of Capt. Porteous was read in Four of the Churches of this City, and by some Ministers who had not read it formerly.

In the old Church there was some Disturbance; a good old Woman who, 'tis remarkable, had not been at Church for 20 Years before, bawl'd out some impertinent Words, and a young Fellow was carry'd to the Guard for the same Fault.

The good old Woman, guilty of bawling out in the Church, in Time of reading the Act, was Yesterday carry'd to the Council Chamber and examin'd; but was dismiss'd without any Punishment, she behaving like one delirious, calling them Rebels to Jesus Christ, saying she was willing to go to the Grass-Market, meaning the Gallows, to suffer for her Testimony, &c. She was exhorted not to come to Church again 'til she resolv'd on a better Behaviour.

The young Fellow, charg'd with the same Crime, was ordered to find Bail for his good Behaviour.
