MEMPHIS, Tenn.—Today will be a memorable day at the Fayette County Training School, when Dr. Charlotte Hawkin Brown, nationally known club woman and educator, pres. of the Palmer Memorial Institute, Sedalia, North Carolina, climaxes the county wide graduation of the elementary schools of Fayette County with an address at 8:00 tonight.
Several thousand persons are expected to witness the events which start with a spring festival at three o'clock this afternoon. All of the 76 elementary schools in the county will take part in this mammoth event and the graduates of all the schools will be honored with a reception at 4:30 this afternoon. At six o'clock, there will be a banquet and reception for Dr. Brown.
Sunday afternoon, the high school graduates of the Fayette County Training school had their baccalaureate sermon with Rev. T. Sains, pastor, Mt. Zion Baptist church, Jackson, Tenn., preaching the sermon. Commencement exercises will be held Thursday night, April 26, with an address by Rev. T. J. Douglas, presiding elder of the North Jackson District as the feature.
Elvie Virginia Winston is the valedictorian and Edna Louise Winston the Salutatorian of the class.
