Full Text

A Democratic paper says the struggle between the Grant or Custom-house wing of the Republican party and the Greeley-Fenton wing is very bitter in New York. In New York, Oneida, and other counties, double sets of delegates have been appointed to the Republican State Convention. United States Senator Conkling, of the Grant wing, was beaten in Oneida county, but he then organized a bolt and elected himself as a contestant. There will be a great excitement, and perhaps a split in the Convention, which meets on the 27th inst. The anti-Grant Republicans are not going to be ridden over rough-shod in the Empire State.
