COUNTY GOVERNMENT
IN WYOMING, 1928
In his report to Governor Emerson, on the cost of maintaining county government in Wyoming for the year 1928 State Examiner A. L. Putnam has a tabulated statement of the cost of each department of government for each county, with total expenditures for the year. The tabulation also shows the assessed valuation, the expenditure per thousand of valuation, the population by the 1925 census, expenditures per capita, outstanding warrants and certificates December 31, 1928, and cash in the county general fund at the end of the year, for each county.
The total cost of government for the various counties are given as follows:

The average per capita cost of County Government, based upon the census of 1925, was $13.57. Albany County had the lowest per capita cost of $9.70 and Johnson the highest, it being $24.02.
The average cost per thousand of assessed valuation was $6.34. In this comparison Albany County was lowest with a cost of $4.59 per thousand and Johnson County highest with $9.33 per thousand.
