April 21.

LATEST FROM PORTUGAL.

By the brig Panther, capt. Story, arrived at this port, in 35 days from Lisbon, we learn verbally that a severe gale came on the 4th of March which lasted till the 10th, in which several vessels were lost, and almost every one damaged. A Convent was struck with lightning, and materially injured.

The British and Portuguese armies were in high spirits: no general battle had recently taken place. The French army had not entered Portugal, but were on the frontiers.
