From South Carolina, March 9, we are inform'd, That they had no farther Account of the Spaniards; that their Soldiers were yet in Pay, and a Vessel kept out a Cruizing on their Coasts, and their Forts Repairing, &c.

A Paragraph of a Letter, from a Merchant of Note in South Carolina to one in this Town, dated the 7th of March, 1736/7.

I am of Opinion, the Design and Intention of the Spaniards, so much talk'd of, is only a Rumour, and that there is nothing in it, at least against this Province: However, it will be a Means of getting our Fortifications put into good Order, which is very much wanted.
