GOVERNOR TO SPEAK

For Graded Schools at Henderson and Oxford.

Both Addresses to be Delivered on Saturday May 4th. One in the Day and One at Night.

On Saturday, May 4, Governor Aycock will deliver two educational addresses in order to aid in establishing graded schools in two of North Carolina's progressive towns. These are to be at Henderson and at Oxford.

Yesterday two editors were in Raleigh with invitations to this end. From Henderson came Mr. Thad. R. Manning, of the Henderson Gold Leaf, who extended on behalf of the Board of Education of the schools there an invitation to Governor Aycock to speak on Saturday, May 4, in the interests of graded schools, as an election for the establishing of these schools is to be held next week.

From Oxford came Mr. John T. Britt, editor of the Oxford Ledger, on a similar mission, and for the same day.

Governor Aycock accepted both invitations. He will speak in Henderson at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and at Oxford at 8 o'clock in the evening.

His acceptance of these invitations insures a large gathering of people in Henderson and Oxford on next Saturday. Both Messrs. Manning and Britt are delighted at securing his acceptance, and Governor Aycock is delighted to have an opportunity to speak for education in their town.
