Nugget Nelle and Kuskokwim Kate, born in Nome a year ago, have brought honor to their birthplace by capturing prizes at a recent show held over 5000 miles from their home.
The sisters are Siamese cats owned by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Flakne and were obtained from Mrs. Fred Kubon, Mrs. Flakne's sister, by Mr. Flakne, chief of the Alaska branch of the Interior Department's division of territories, when he was in the Territory last year.
Nugget Nelle took the first prize at the show, and Kuskokwim Kate took the second prize for Siamese.
