CURRENCY TINKERS.—These savans are springing up at every corner, with their plans to regulate our financial concerns and doctor the money market. All trash from Dan to Beersheba. The only rule is "never to spend more than you make," "never get in debt," "never carve more than you want," "kiss your own wife, and go to heaven."

Many of the merchants are so hostile to the banks, that they will vote the locofoco ticket in pure spite. We know a hundred in a few blocks that will do so.

The circulation of the Herald has been quadrupled since the 1st of May, and its advertising doubled. Our income now is $25,000 per annum clear of all expenses. I mean to be a John Jacob Astor, with a devilish sight bigger heart.
