We have noticed, in an experience of some thirty years as editor of a Democratic paper, that the men who know a great deal better how we ought to conduct our paper than we do ourselves, are of just the class of this Marseilles Dogberry-men to whom, out of pure kindness, we have, contrary to our ordinary rule of demanding pay in advance, sent the paper long enough to let them get ten or fifteen dollars in our debt, and who then get disgusted (with the debt) and stop the paper without paying up. We have a few more subscribers of the same sort on our list, whom we are anxiously waiting to see become indignant.
