The program of Bethel Literary Society last Tuesday, was one of unusual interest. "The dying boy." a recitation, by Mrs. Mary Lee, was very favorably received by the audience. "Florentina," reading, by Miss Sarah Johnson, was rendered in her usual lively and piquant style, which never fails to please. W. A. Sweeny delivered a recitation entitled "Time." in a forcible and impressive manner peculiar to himself. "A tribute to little women," a selection, by Mrs. Mary Lee. which was rather a plea for that unfortunate(?) class of the human family, seemed to be highly appreciated by the audience, "Why don't the ladies propose," a very pertinent query, by Miss Sarah Johnson, was attentively listened to, especially by the young gentlemen. Refreshments and a good time generally followed the exercises.
