It having been made appear, that the inferior Clergy, upon Account of their small Revenues, cannot live suitable to their Character, and relieve the poor Parishioners as they are obliged to do, a new Regulation is going to be made, whereby their present Allowance of 200 Livres, will be augmented to 500 Livres. The King has caused a Declaration to be published, whereby the Tax of the 100th Penny, and the four Sols per Livre of that established in March 1748, shall cease, and be extinct from and after this Day.
