Two vice squad detectives said they located approximately 22 gallons of illegal whiskey stored in a concealed compartment in a garage on Old Know Rd., N.W.
Detectives J. D. Hudson and E. H. Lyons said they received information of the whiskey's presence at that particular place last Saturday.
Hudson and Lyons said they investigated and found that the back of the garage was false and "had a door concealed by a piece of cloth behind which was a heavy door that concealed a compartment capable of holding at least 500 gallons of illegal whiskey."
About 22 gallons of the moonshine liquor was actually stored in the garage compartment when Hudson and Lyons raided the place, reports indicated.
The garage, Hudson and Lyons said, was located in the 2600 block of Old Know Rd., N.W. The illegal brew was held as evidence, the detectives said.
Meanwhile, the owner of the property where the garage was located was being sought for questioning in connection with a possible violation of the State Liquor Control Act. The suspect's name is known, but his identity was withheld pending further investigation.
