It is said that on Monday morning, at six o'clock, a duel was fought on Hounslow-Heath, between an Officer belonging to Col. Pettitot's Regiment, and another of Lord John Murray's regiment of Highlanders, occasioned by a dispute concerning the present state of national affairs: were attended by their two seconds, and servants; when the Highland Officer fired his pistol upon the ground, and the other with equal gallantry, discharged his into the air: they then drew their swords, and approached each other with great bravery; and at the first attack the latter ran his sword thro' the Highland Captain's waistcoat and skin, but missed his body, at the second the Highlander ran his antagonist through the sword arm, who notwithstanding continued the fight; at the third, the wounded officer received a second wound in his side, at the fourth another in his breast: on which the Highlander told him, he would run him, the next time, through the body, unless he yielded; the other acknowledged his generosity, and shook hands with him, after which they parted.
