MIDNIGHT FIRE

Damages the Citizen Office and Wood's Grocery.

A fire alarm was turned in shortly before midnight last Thursday by Mrs. J. B. Friemonth, of the Vendome hotel, when she noticed fire in the Hamil building across the street.

The department responded promptly and found an ugly fire to fight, but after an hour had it out.

The fire seemed to originate from a stove near the centre of the Saline Citizen office.

A big hole was burnt through the floor and much damage was done to the citizen office by the fire and water, as well as to the grocery of F. C. Wood beneath.

Both carried insurance.

The building is also insured.

The loss will amount to probably $1000.
