TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Dec. 13.
The state board of education has placed 527 elementary schools and 266 high schools on the accredited list in Florida this year.
The list of accredited elementary schools included 511 for white children and 16 for negroes.
The list of accredited high schools includes 250 public schools and two private schools for white children and 11 public schools and three private schools for negroes.
An accredited school is one whose teachers, courses and facilities meet all requirements of the state board of education.
Schools in Monroe county on the accredited list are:
White elementary schools: Division Street, Key West; Harris, Key West; Rock Harbor; Matecumbe and Isla Morada.
White high schools: Key West.
