Full Text

The Fair.

Up to the present writing we have received nothing from the great Fair in New Orleans except the opening address of Mr. Burwell, which occupies a whole side of the Bulletin in a type so small that we cannot read it except with a "double magnifying glass of extra power" as Sam Weller would say. We have been to a good many of these fairs, and our experience is that when men are crazy to see the premium bulls, stud horses and jackasses, an address which discusses everything from the flood to the present time is generally voted an unmitigated bore. So we think our New Orleans friends will find it, and we have no doubt that this feature of the exhibition will be abandoned in future.
