Democratic Nominations for the Legislature
An adjourned meeting of the democratic nominating convention met last evening, and nominated their ticket for the House of Delegates. The ballotings were as follows:—First ballot— Cox, 63, Baughman, 49; Ware, 49; Spillman, 45; Whyte, 28; Stump, 24; Alexander, 22; Dukehart, 21; Friese, 20; Barroll, 20; Bowie, 19; Snyder, 18; Brown, 16; Garrett, 13; Starr, 8; Gwynn, 6; Ringrose, 5; McPhail, 5; Roberts, 4; McLaughlin, 2; Stansbury, 1; Williams, 1; McNally, 1. Second ballot—Dukehart, 16; Brown, 16; Alexander 12; Bowie, 12; Whyte 10; Friese, 10; Barroll, 8; Stump, 6; Garrett, 1; Ringrose, 1; Gough, 1. Third ballot—Brown 33; Dukehart 19; Friese 11; Alexander 1; Bowie 9; Barroll 4. Fourth Ballot—Brown 65; Dukehart 16. Thus it will be seen that Messrs Nathaniel Cox, Francis M.
