I was present in the lobby, at the late session when proposals from the inhabitants of the town of Lexington and its vicinity, were read in the house of Representatives, and laid on the table until the First Monday in February next. If I recollect right, the proposals were to erect a capital at least equal to that in Frankfort, build a house for the Governor, a public jail, and refund any sums of money subscribed and paid by the inhabitants of Franklin county for the public buildings, in Frankfort;—to the performance of which, between thirty and forty men of property were bound, on condition the seat of government, was removed to Lexington. I think it highly necessary that the public should be made acquainted with those proposals, to enable the citizens at large to form an opinion on the subject, therefore request you will publish this in your next paper:
