COOLIDGE LAUDS SENATORS FOR FINE WORK

WASHINGTON, D. C.—President Coolidge Friday personally congratulated the Washington baseball team on its rise to the top of the American league and wished it good luck in its road trip starting Sunday night.

At the invitation of the president, members of the team and Clark Griffith, the owner, went to the white house and were received by Mr. Coolidge. He greeted each one and expressed regret that he would be unable to attend either of the last two games here.

Joe Judge, Senator first baseman, will be out of the game for several days with a bruised ankle.
