We hear from the city of Washington, that the south-east corner stone of the capital of the United States was ceremoniously deposited on the 18th ult. and that the performance was attended with a Masonic solemnity and military parade, surpassing anything of the kind that has been heretofore exhibited.—The presence of WASHINGTON, gave magnificence to the scene, and brilliancy to the performances, which were concluded with convivial entertainment, and much to the satisfaction of all to whom the rising importance of this happy country affords a pleasing contemplation.
