PHILADELPHIA, May 9.

We hear from Maryland, That about two Weeks since, a Gang of Thieves, broke into the House of Mr. Bennet at Chestertown: But being timely discovered, and his Wife alarming the Neighbours by crying Fire from the Window, while he was getting his Gun, they made off without their intended Booty; after discharging a Pistol thro' the Glass, some Pieces of which cut Mrs. Bennet's Face. 'Tis said there were 6 or 7 in the Gang, all on Horse-back; and farther, that they robb'd Mr. Connor's Store the same Night of near 200 l. worth of Goods.
