Full Text

The Michigan Conspirators.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer says: "We heard direct from this band of desperadoes on Wednesday. It is considered that Salt Peter nor Senator Seward cannot save them.- The defendants got a lot of witnesses from Indiana to swear their case through for them, but while the principal witness was testifying, the Prosecutor went before a magistrate, and swore out a warrant against him for perjury. On leaving the stand, he was arrested and put in prison. The balance of the band are now testifying, but the first witness has privately confessed they were all bribed, so the defence falls. Their only hope now is that some juror may die, having been on the case two months, and thus prevent the verdict."
